A pair of EL84 tubes in the power stage drives 15 watts of power through a single 12” Celestion Speaker. “The AC15 Custom Series makes use of 3 x 12AX7 preamp tubes. This is useful if you need to increase or reduce the higher frequencies. Finally, there’s a knob called “Tone Cut”. The top-boost channel has a responsive EQ with treble and bass, though the normal channel does not. The amp comes with two inputs, one for the normal channel and one for the top-boost channel, which obviously boosts the high-end of the signal. If these items are important to you then you will need to look elsewhere. As you probably know already, there is no effects loop on the Vox AC15 C1, nor a headphone jack. The renowned built-in reverb sounds lovely as does the built-in tremolo. So you can get classic Vox clean tones and some great distortion out of it at, all achievable at reasonable volumes. The Vox AC15 C1 amp is about as versatile as a tube amp of this sort can be. ![]()
